Our Really Cool Employees

Oh the stories we could tell... IEI is a family that's almost 200 strong. Our business is centered on staffing Rockstar's, or at least really competent amazing people.

We have a very diverse team, after all we're a minority owned, women owned (and led) small business. But the numbers don't lie:

  • 50% of the Executive Leadership Team are women,

  • 32% of our team are women working in male dominated industries

  • 51% of our team are minorities

  • 12% are veterans

In 2020 we set out to make our corporate culture a top priority and it remains a key annual objective to ensure we focus on employee engagement, mental well being, and provide an inclusive safe environment for our employees to thrive. We support this responsibility by:

  • Providing career opportunities and resources to our workforce, and leading by example in areas such as workplace safety, health and wellness, diversity and inclusion, and training and development;

  • Hiring veterans as they seek to transition to the civilian workforce;

  • Encouraging employees with entrepreneurial drive to launch their own businesses by becoming subcontractors or suppliers to us; and

  • Partnering with veteran-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned businesses.

We have embraced working from home / alternative work arrangement lifestyles as much as our contracts and work will allow. To ensure all staff have a place to come together, interact, and interface with each other despite the fact that we are all spread across the globe on the daily, we created weekly virtual Lunch & Learn meet-ups to connect everyone in the company. We also implemented a Project Manager training program where the CEO, COO, and VPs monthly work with the Project Manager's on expanding their knowledge and skills.  IEI advocates on promoting from within whenever possible, all of our Executive Leadership Team started as Field Technicians or Project Managers with the company.

Environment & Conservation

IEI is committed to setting and achieving environmental objectives and our client’s stated objectives for environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Our efforts include:

  • Achieving at least a 2% reduction in energy costs year over year in managed buildings by tracking energy consumption and implementing energy saving innovations;

  • Preference for components and fixtures with Energy Star and Water Sense ratings;

  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations from the Federal to local levels, including NEPA, CERCLA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and RCRA;

  • Informing our clients of cost savings that can be achieved by replacing inefficient boilers with high efficiency options such as condensing boilers, installing boiler-control improvements, installing new heating systems and-hot water systems, and installing boiler-optimization units that control the way boilers burn gas, making them up to 20% more energy efficient;

  • Fitting low-energy bulbs across all our facilities, drastically reducing energy consumption; and

  • Running a continuous energy-efficiency campaign to inform and update all clients and share areas of best practice among all staff.

Global Community Engagement & Support

Reduce the Risk of Childhood Lead Poisonings

We provide lead testing of homes and engage with our community to advance lead poisoning prevention awareness, educate homeowners about the risks of lead.

  • Providing state certified Lead-Based Paint Inspectors and Risk Assessors as volunteers to test homes and children’s toys at community events; and

  • Supporting advocacy groups focused on promoting the prevention of childhood lead poisoning.

Helping Those In Need

Every month we select a local charity to support during our virtual Lunch & Learn program. We strive to give back and support through our donations and bring awareness to special causes that are near and dear to our employees.
